Homemade Fish and Chips with tarter sauce

This was a big hit in our house! It’s literally the perfect summer night easy dinner. I went ahead and used local caught swordfish for the fish, and it was so dang good. Obviously you are welcome to use other fish like cod, but if you can get your hands on swordfish for this, do it! The chips take the longest to cook, so definitely make sure to cook those first.

Homemade Fish and Chips

For the fish-

What you need:

1-1.5 lbs of swordfish, or your choice of fish, cut into about 1 inch patties

Bowl one-

1-2 eggs whisked

2 TBSP water

Bowl two-

1 cup flour

salt, pepper, garlic powder

Bowl three-

1 cup breadcrumbs of choice

1 cup shredded Parmesan

oregano

What to do:

Dip your fish patties into the egg mix first.

Then dip into flour lightly.

Then cover in the breadcrumb mix.

Place on a lined baking sheet.

Bake the fish at 400 for about 15 minutes, can broil if desire for the last 3-5 minutes.

For the chips:

I cut up 3 russet potatoes in wedge shapes, not too thick.

Drizzle with salt, pepper, cold pressed olive oil.

Cook on a lined sheet at 400 for about 30 minutes.

Tarter sauce:

1 cup mayo

1/2 cup relish

1 TBSP mustard

1/2 lemon juiced

2 TBSP fresh dill, chopped

salt, pepper, garlic powder

Serve all together, and enjoy!
