Homemade Hot Dog and Hamburger Buns!

Why have I waited SO long to even attempt making these!!? They were seriously so easy, and I couldn’t believe I could make the same dough for both hamburger buns, and hot dog buns. I mean mind blown with these. They tasted so good! The best part is you could freeze these, and save them for another day. Make these this weekend, you will not regret it!

Homemade Hot Dog, and Hamburger Buns

What you need:

3 cups all purpose flour, more if too sticky

1 TBSP dry active yeast

1 cup warm water

1/8 cup cane sugar

1/4 cup melted butter

2 eggs, divided

1 tsp salt

What to do:

1.) In a stand mixer bowl, add warm water, and yeast. Let sit up to 5 minutes.

2.) In a separate bowl, mix together flour, sugar, butter, and salt.

3.) Add flour mix to water/yeast, slowly. Once add about half the flour mix, add 1 egg to mix. Continue adding, and mixing.

4.) I switch my paddle to a dough hook. Mixed about 5 minutes more, then kneaded the dough by hand into a ball.

5.) Place in bowl, covered with plastic wrap for about 1 hour to let rise/rest.

6.) Punch dough down. Break apart into about 12 balls, I got 6 hamburger buns, and 7-8 hot dog buns.

8.) For hamburger buns roll into a ball.

9.) For hot dogs, make a 6 inch by 3 inch rectangle, and roll into log type shape.

10.) Place on a lined sheet about 2-3 inches apart. Let rise for about 30 minutes.

11.) Add remaining egg with water. Brush onto each bun.

12.) Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for about 15-20 minutes.
