Homemade Pizza Dough
My family started making homemade pizza regularly on Saturday nights! My boys love the pizza part, and we add in a fun movie night after. It has been a big hit! This pizza dough takes minimal ingredients, and time. Also, I have FINALLY figured out the perfect temperature to make the pizzas just golden. The recipe make 2 large pizzas, mine are usually a 9X12 rectangle shape.
Homemade pizza dough
What you need:
2.5 cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 cup warm water
1 TBSP dry active yeast
1 TBSP raw honey
Optional:
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp oregano
What to do:
Mix the water, yeast, and honey in a small bowl.
Let set for 5 minutes.
Mix flour, salt, and seasonings in a kitchen aide mixer with paddle.
Add in water mix.
Hand knead for about 5 minutes.
Place dough in bowl, cover with plastic wrap about 20 minutes.
Divide dough in half, and form the shape desired.
Add sauce, and toppings of choice-favorites of ours are fresh mozzarella, shredded cheddar cheese, pepperoni, prosciutto, arugula, red onions, olives, etc
I love to use leftover meat like brisket, or meatballs!
I switch between red marinara sauce, and homemade white sauce-coming soon!
Bake your pizza at 550 degrees Fahrenheit, yes that hot.
Bake about 12 minutes, rotating half way through and checking as cooks
