Giant Cinnamon Roll
THIS, THIS is perfection! Basically cinnamon roll cake vibes. I used my homemade cinnamon roll recipe, and made it into a giant cinnamon roll. My boys asked for more, and more. Also, the location I got to cook this cinnamon roll was amazing. Planning to share a whole page on the most perfect north Georgia lakeside cabin ASAP. I mean who doesn’t think cinnamon rolls are a good idea in a cabin?!
Giant Cinnamon Roll
Ingredients:
1/2 cup warm milk
1.5 tsp dry active yeast
1 TBSP brown sugar
For the dough:
Mix in a stand mixer-milk, sugar and yeast, and let set for about 5 minutes.
Add the following ingredients next:
4.5 TBSP melted butter
2 eggs
2.5 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 heavy cap full of vanilla
Mix it all until begins to pull away from the sides. Honestly when we were away I just mixed by hand as well, and kneaded for a few minutes, if you are concerned about not having a standing mixer.
Let dough rise in bowl with plastic wrap at least an hour.
Roll dough out to a 9X12 rectangle shape.
Filling:
1/4 cup cane sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
cinnamon
4 TBSP melted butter
Spread melted butter on dough.
Add sugars, and cinnamon over whole thing.
Cut 6 strips.
Roll one for the middle, and keep rolling strips all around it to make a giant roll.
I let mine sit and rise for 30 minutes to an hour, and covered in the fridge overnight.
Bake at 350 in a grease pie, or 9 inch cake pan covered with foil at least 30-45 minutes. Until no longer gooey.
Frosting:
2 TBSP heavy cream
2 cups powdered sugar
2 TBSP room temp cream cheese
3 TBSP room temp butter
1/4 tsp salt
Mix with hand mixer, and top the cinnamon roll when cooled!
Enjoy!
